GAD 2023
Here are some of the beautiful projects the Carlisle community made happen on Give a Day week 2023.
Refreshed our community memorial garden in Longtown through tidying up the gardens and planting new areas to restore the space
for everyone to enjoy.
Pots of Joy were grown and gifted to folks in our communities!
Lifted and lighted up the hearts of our locals through gift and skill sharing & inspiring others.
Painting & decorating a house which provides a safe place for those recovering from substance misuse.
Revamped and created a great outdoor BBQ space for the women and families at Water Street Hostel to enjoy space outdoors.
Tunnel weaving, gardening, painting shapes, mud kitchens and more at James Rennie School!
The Secret Garden is a community garden created with local groups who have barriers to accessing local green spaces.
The space is used for family gardening clubs, to support people seeking asylum, for get-togethers, education sessions, picnics and arts and social events for young people.
We helped care for the space by helping fix it up, building and painting fencing, garden maintenance, weeding, planting etc.
Lent a hand with painting, pointing, DIY, Soil removal & more.
Helped clean up the bay.
Refreshed our facilities (for 16-25s who are homeless or at risk of homelessness) with painting, decorating and gardening.
Laid some shillies, built outdoor seating and made some raised beds to spruce up our community centre.
Participating in the Roman Dig in it's final days.
A Tour of the Roman Dig site. We learned all about the history of our city & all that’s been discovered.
